Pilot rescued from downed plane
New Mexico State Police have located a small, single-engine aircraft that went down south of Santa Fe Monday evening.
State Police tell KOB that the pilot was conscious when they arrived on scene and taken to the hospital for treatment. The extent of the pilot’s injuries are unknown at this time.
Santa Fe County Fire Chief David Spurling said the pilot called 911 around 8 p.m., reporting that the plane had gone down and that there were injuries. However, dispatch lost contact with the pilot.
The Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA, was called out to investigate the cause of the crash.
